FAQs

Cooking & Product

Beef tallow can be used as a direct replacement for any cooking fat, whether solid or liquid. It performs particularly well for high-heat cooking and everyday meals such as searing steaks, roasting vegetables, frying eggs, and adding depth of flavour to slow-cooked meats.

Yo Tallow has a mild, clean flavour rather than a strong beef aroma. We slowly render in small batches over 6–8 hours and filter twice for clarity and purity, resulting in a smooth, umami notes that enhances cooking without overpowering your food.

Smoke points can vary slightly depending on cooking conditions and environment. In most home kitchens, our Wagyu beef tallow performs within an approximate range of 175–205°C. It doesn’t burn quickly like butter and performs better at a higher temperature than olive oil.

At room temperature, our beef tallow has a texture similar to softened butter — firm yet easy to scoop. When warmed, it melts into a liquid and will naturally firm up again as it cools. If you prefer a firmer consistency, you can store it in the refrigerator or freezer. Beef tallow is naturally shelf stable, so how you store it really comes down to personal preference and how you plan to use it. Always refer to the best before date printed on the jar.

Beef tallow is a traditional cooking fat packed with nutrients that have been used for generations. Unlike many modern vegetable oils, it is minimally processed and naturally stable at higher cooking temperatures

Orders & Shipping

Orders placed through our website are typically dispatched same day or next day and arrive in 3-5 days depending on your location.

Storage & Shelf Life

The shelf life is 12months from the production date. The tallow is shelf stable at room temperature, but refrigeration or freezing can be used to extend freshness if desired. Each container is clearly marked with a best before date.

Our Wagyu Tallow is naturally shelf-stable. Simply store the jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, such as a pantry or cupboard. Once opened, make sure the lid is sealed tightly and always use a clean, dry utensil to keep the tallow fresh.

For extended freshness, you can also store it in the refrigerator, where it will become firmer but remain perfectly usable.

Yes. Beef tallow can be reused for cooking several times depending on what you cook with it. Allow the tallow to cool, strain out any food particles, and store it in a clean container. Because tallow is highly stable at heat, it holds up well for repeated cooking.
